Since establishing BeTrueATL in 2008, Bernadette has been traveling to video shoots and events creating images of celebrity production stills, weddings, and her personal fine art work. From February to April 2009, she has been published three times in Hip Hop weekly magazine featuring her quality images of Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy on the cover. Additionally, her photographs of Young Jeezy, and Nas were featured on the table of contents page and “on the set” section of the magazine.
Working in both color and black & white, her photographic approach is raw, natural, and freestyle, documenting action and emotions as life moves around her. Her spontaneous shooting style incorporates capturing memories of subjects that she has no control of.
During her time in college, she was encouraged by one of her professors to shoot stills on production sets because of her personality and work ethics she presented in class.
After researching the opportunity and receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television from Savannah College of Art and Design, she sought out and accepted photographing her first video “Dunn Dunn” by Shawty Lo. It was there she made her first experience in shooting production stills and realized her love for working in the entertainment industry.
Some of Bernadette’s work features photos of Russell Simmons, LeBron James, Devyne Stephens, Lil Wayne, T.I, Young Jezzy, Yung Joc, Gucci Mane, and Soulja Boy to name a few.
Bernadette continues to strive in the industry by photographing quality images and strives to gain national recognition.
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
